LUMEN lunch with Dr Cale Miller

Our LUMEN lunch seminar series continued today with Dr Cale Miller, an Assistant Professor at Utrecht University. Cale presented his fascinating work on Arctic kelp communities, where him and his team have been exposing intact specimens to a range of future climate change scenarios and measuring metabolic responses.

Cale presented his ongoing work within the FACE-IT project https://www.face-it-project.eu/ , utilizing the extensive mesocosm research infrastructure that has been established at the Ny-Ålesund field station in Svalbard. We’re grateful to Cale for generously sharing his research with us, and we look forward to working more closely with him and his team in the future.

Cale’s latest paper is available online: https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0048969724027177
