Research visit to the IOW in Germany
We recently visited the Leibniz Institute for Baltic Sea Research in Warnemünde (IOW) for a research stay hosted by Prof. Peter Holtermann, Dr. Fabian Wolf, and Prof. Lars Umlauf.
During our short visit, we discussed the technologies we use for studying benthic ecosystems. We exchanged ideas for collaboration by linking the extensive expertise in ocean turbulence and modelling present at the IOW with the biogeochemical expertise present at SDU.
Additionally, Karl delivered a seminar to IOW’s research staff entitled: ‘Benthic fluxes under dynamic conditions: a combined in situ and laboratory approach’.
We left the IOW feeling energized and full of ideas. We look forward to establishing more formal links with the IOW and to collaborate with them in the future.
